Position Overview
The Consulting Associate position is the entry-level position for applicants with a Master of Economics and limited work experience. Consulting Associates work closely with senior consultants, scholars and industry experts on project teams, and will have the opportunity to immediately work on some of the largest, high-profile and most significant competition cases in Europe, providing conceptual and practical input to projects. A Consulting Associate would typically:
1. Conduct analyses and collect evidence from data and research that support our expert opinions and business recommendations
2. Perform regression analyses in statistical analysis programs (such as Stata, Python, R), including large data projects requiring the use of cloud computing
3. Build economic models tailored to the issues at hand and supporting our expert opinions and business recommendations
4. Assist in the development and presentation of client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers
5. Interact with clients and communicate complicated economic concepts and arguments to non-experts in an understandable, accessible manner
6. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions
7. Participate in practice-building activities (training, recruiting, publication, expertise sharing, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
8. Master of Economics from a well-regarded institution, with a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialisation in industrial economics and/or econometrics
9. Fluency in English, other language skills are considered an asset
10. At least 6 months of relevant work experience, within economic consulting or with a competition authority
11. High degree of numeracy, ability to analyse data, familiarity with econometric techniques
12. Exceptional written and oral communication skills
13. Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities
14. Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
15. Clear and demonstrated interest in economic consulting through coursework, work experience, or activities
