We are looking for an Optical Design Researcher (various levels of seniority) to join a world leading technology company at their technology centre in Jena.
As an Optical Design Researcher your responsibilities will include:
* Conduct research & design optical solutions for applications such as wireless communication, sensing, displays, projectors, & imaging lenses.
* Analyze application requirements, develop system simulations, & create prototypes to validate concepts.
* Stay updated on emerging technologies & contribute to innovative advancements in optical systems.
* Collaborate with internal teams & external partners to drive research objectives.
* Publish & present findings at leading academic conferences & journals.
As an Optical Design Researcher your skills will include:
* PhD in Optics or a related field.
* Experience in designing optical systems for wireless communication, sensing, displays, or imaging applications.
* Strong background in geometrical, diffractive, & physical optics.
* Proficiency in optical design & simulation tools such as Zemax, LightTools, CodeV, or VirtualLab.
* Programming skills in Python or MATLAB are a plus.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities with a structured & goal-oriented approach.
* Fluent in English & comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
