The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to lead subcontractor selection and strategic buying for large-scale Data Centre projects in the Stuttgart region. As a key member of the project delivery team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle of construction services, ensuring that specialized subcontractors for electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and civil works are secured on time and within budget.
In 2026, the German Data Centre market is shaped by strict new environmental regulations, including the Energy Efficiency Act, which mandates high PUE standards and renewable energy integration. Your role will be critical in sourcing partners capable of delivering these advanced technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Subcontractor Sourcing: Lead the identification, qualification, and management of specialized subcontractors across various trades (e.g., cooling systems, medium/low voltage power, fire suppression).
* End-to-End Tendering: Manage the full RFP/RFQ process, including commercial and contract negotiations (standard and bespoke forms) to optimize the project’s commercial position.
* Strategic Buying: Purchase construction services and critical equipment (OFCI/CFCI), analysing project schedules to ensure site delivery aligns with commissioning milestones.
* Compliance & Risk: Ensure all procurement activities comply with German building codes, federal immission control acts, and corporate safety policies.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary procurement point of contact for project managers, engineers, and external clients to align supply chain performance with site progress.
What You Bring
* Professional Experience: Minimum 5+ years in procurement, specifically focused on (large-scale) construction or engineering projects. Oil & Gas and other Industrial or Energy Market experience will be good. Data Centre Experience will be an advantage
* Language Skills: Proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken) is useful for negotiating with local German subcontractors and reporting to international project stakeholders.
* Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, power usage effectiveness (PUE) metrics, and modular construction methods.
