AxynTeC is a professional thin-film coating solutions provider based in Augsburg, Germany and has a strong track record in Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With its innovative process technology plasmaIMPAX, AxynTeC has successfully mastered the art of DLC coatings, providing solutions for customers in the industrial, decorative and medical industries. On top of coating services, AxynTeC also has strong expertise in pulsed laser deposition, and provides services such as contract manufacturing, engineering development and supply of coating equipment.
By integrating AxynTeC into our Advanced Materials Business Unit (AMBU), it expands Nanofilm's solutions portfolio with DLC expertise, and providing a platform in Europe to offer our unique solutions to the customers in that region and accelerate our growth.
Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Finance Specialist/ Senior Specialist to join our dynamic team at Nanofilm. Nanofilm is a leading provider of nanotechnology solutions, leveraging its proprietary technologies, core competencies in R&D, engineering and production, to provide technology-based solutions, through its operations across Asia and Europe, across a wide range of industries.
This role is to provide strategic and operational financial leadership for the company's European operations, ensuring full alignment with Group financial policies, performance expectations, and reporting standards.
This role is accountable for driving financial planning and analysis (FP&A), overseeing both operational and project budget control, and delivering cost transparency through 4M-based operational finance practices.
The position also leads fixed asset, Capex, and investment management processes, ensuring disciplined capital deployment and post-investment review. Acting as a key partner to both local and Group leadership, the role supports sustainable business growth through strong financial governance, decision support, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be based in Singapore, traveling frequently to Europe to manage our financial operations and ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate financial standards.

Responsibilities

Financial Systems and Process Alignment : Ensure that all financial systems and processes in our European operations are fully aligned with those of the Corporate Headquarters to enable seamless consolidation and standardization.

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) : Lead the FP&A activities, including variance analysis, forecasting, scenario modeling, and strategic financial planning of the European business units.

Budgeting and Budget Control :

· Oversee the annual budgeting process, including the issuance of guidelines, validation of assumptions, and consolidation of submissions.
· Ensure clear separation and control over Operational Budgets (day-to-day cost structure) and Project Budgets (NPI, Lean, automation, expansion).
· Monitor and track actual spend versus budget; provide insights into risks and variances.

Financial Accounting and Reporting : Manage all aspects of financial accounting and internal/external reporting in compliance with IFRS and corporate policies. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, including R&D and project reporting.

Operational Finance - 4M Framework: Partner with Site Finance and Operations teams to implement the 4M framework for cost control and operational finance oversight:

· Material - Monitor overconsumption, BOM deviation, and raw material yield.
· Method - Track process loss, rework, routing gaps, and yield efficiency.
· Machine - Assess downtime, equipment utilization, and cycle time variances.
· Manpower - Analyze labor cost per unit, idle time, overtime, attrition and productivity.

Costing analysis and allocation : Provide standard cost rollups, variance analysis, and accurate cost allocations to support margin analysis, manufacturing decisions, and commercial strategy.

Fixed Asset & Investment Management:
· Oversee all fixed asset controls, ensure tagging, tracking, and depreciation schedules are accurate and compliant.
· Manage Capex budgeting and project investment reviews, including ROI, IRR, and Payback analysis.
· Support post-investment evaluations and reporting to ensure strategic alignment and performance realization.

Working Capital Management: Track and improve working capital performance by managing inventory turnover, monitoring AR aging and collection risks, and ensuring disciplined AP practices to support healthy cash conversion cycles.

Tax and Local Regulations Compliance : Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and filings, leveraging expertise in local tax laws and international tax principles.

Liaison with External Parties : Act as the primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, BPO accounting firms and regulatory bodies in Europe.

Team resources : Actively engage and coordinate with Group Finance and Shared Services teams to support transactional activities, process improvements, and resource leverage across geographies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is favourable.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in similar roles, with at least 5 years in a position that is able to work independently.
Proven experience in operational finance in manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, while having basic knowledge in local European accounting standards and tax regulations being highly advantageous.
Experience with financial systems implementation and process improvement.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills and experience in engaging cross-cultural teams.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external parties.
Fluent in English, with proficiency in another European language, such as German, being highly advantageous.
Willingness to travel frequently between Singapore and Europe.
