Project Director – Frankfurt, Germany

Scope of the Role
Reporting to the BU Management & Operations Director, the Project Director will be a self‑starter responsible for the management and coordination of all project aspects within the defined scope. The role requires the delivery of a fully integrated build that is safe, on time, and on budget, with a strong focus on quality, EHS, and commercial performance.
Responsibilities of the Role
* Lead and manage the Project Team and interface with the Client Team, setting clear direction and expectations for safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
* Conduct weekly meetings: schedule and chair meetings with the Design Team, Client, and internal stakeholders; follow up on outstanding items; attend EHS and QA meetings; participate in Morning Whiteboard and Evening schedule meetings.
* Execute weekly audits: implement Mercury’s Project audit plan; review audit findings and address open items; communicate findings to stakeholders; drive closure of audit findings; ensure EHS alerts are effectively communicated.
* Ensure adherence to company SOPs and Mercury procedures; manage overall project operations, safety, quality, and environmental objectives.
* Plan procurement and engineering, review progress against plans, maintain expected margins, and conduct regular commercial reviews.
* Manage budgets and costs, attend client meetings, and maintain strong QEHS relations with the Client.
* Identify improvement opportunities, mentor the team, and set training standards for Mercury staff and Sub‑Contractors.
Qualifications and Key Criteria
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or recognized trade qualification.
* 10+ years of experience managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Civil, Structural, and Architectural packages.
* Strong communication and computer skills; ability to work independently and lead by example.
* Flexibility in working patterns and ability to efficiently manage a team through delegation and review.
