We are currently supporting one of our IT consultancy clients in Germany who are looking for an Active Directory & Identity Services Architect to take technical and conceptual ownership of complex AD and identity environments. You will play a key role in shaping and evolving on-premises and hybrid identity architectures, ensuring security, scalability, and long-term stability for enterprise customers.
This is a hands-on architecture role with influence over standards, governance, and strategic identity transformation initiatives.
Active Directory & Identity Services Architect – Key Responsibilities
* Design and maintain target architectures, standards, and design principles for Active Directory
* Make architectural decisions for AD transformations, migrations, and optimisation initiatives
* Analyse and resolve complex AD issues at a structural and conceptual level, acting as a 3rd-level escalation authority
* Further develop governance, documentation, and quality standards to ensure auditability and operational resilience
* Contribute to identity management and synchronisation concepts (e.g. MIM), including review and modernisation of existing designs
* Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and business requirements
Active Directory & Identity Services Architect – Key Skills Required
* Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
* Several years of experience working with Active Directory in large enterprise environments
* Proven experience designing or optimising AD / IAM architectures, balancing security, operations, and cost
* Strong knowledge of on-prem and hybrid identity environments, including authentication, authorisation, and identity lifecycle
* Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) or similar tools is beneficial but not essential
* Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
* Fluent German (C1/C2+) and English – written and spoken
