Your Role
* Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions.
* Advise Director of Finance in areas of accounting and tax and provide advice, consultation, direction, and support to other departments.
* Review the work of accountants and ensure maintenance of accurate accounting and bookkeeping records including:
* Accounts receivable
* Accounts payable
* Travel expense bookings
* Bookings for debit cards, credit cards, PayPal
* Accounting for fixed and intangible assets
* Accounting for accruals and prepayments
* Accounting for foreign currency transactions
* Support annual audit of the Financial Statements.
* Ensure timely and correct tax returns (with help of KPMG).
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
We'd love to see
* You have 5+ years of experience in accounting, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
* Relevant accounting training and qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
* Proficiency in English and German languages.
* In-depth understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
* Up-to-date knowledge of developments in accounting and bookkeeping.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Hands-on approach to problem-solving and daily operations.
* Energetic and proactive attitude.
* Detail-oriented and highly organized.
* Skilled in fostering alignment and collaboration across various departments.
