About the Role
About the Role
The Head of Supply Chain Management SCM) leads Harman Automotive’s global end-to-end supply chain with enterprise-wide impact. This role owns Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Global Logistics, Inventory Management, and SCM Excellence, including revenue forecast planning. You are accountable for supply chain performance, logistics P&L, inventory working capital, cost efficiency, service levels, compliance, and transformation aligned to Harman and Automotive BU strategy.
Scope & Scale
4. Inventory under management: ~$700M
5. Total logistics cost: ~$150M (2.5% of net sales)
6. Transport cost: ~$90M (1.5% of net sales)
7. Direct cost center responsibility: ~$13.5M
8. Reports to: Operational Automotive Lead
Your Team
9. You will oversee 85 employees globally and manage 7 direct reports
What You will Do
Strategy & Leadership
10. Define and execute a global, future-ready supply chain strategy aligned with BU financial goals, margins, cash flow, and resilience.
11. Lead supply chain transformation, standardization, and digitalization (AI, IoT).
12. Make enterprise-level trade-off decisions across cost, service, risk, and sustainability.
13. Act as a key contributor to Automotive BU strategy and long-range planning.
Demand & Supply Planning
14. Own global S&OP and demand planning processes; improve forecast accuracy using PDCA.
15. Lead supply planning to balance supply and demand, ensure high service levels, and shift from reactive to preventive planning.
16. Establish standardized supply frameworks (EOQ, JIT/consignment, incoterms, risk and supplier performance management).
17. Drive supplier development initiatives with Procurement.
Global Logistics
18. Own global logistics strategy, 4PL operations, TMS optimization, and logistics risk management.
19. Set global standards for transport, warehousing, packaging, customs, and trade compliance.
20. Lead logistics cost optimization, crisis management, sustainability initiatives, and customer RFQ support.
Inventory Management
21. Define and execute global inventory strategy supporting cash flow targets.
22. Establish governance, KPI dashboards, coverage targets, deviation management, and obsolescence reduction.
SCM Excellence & Transformation
23. Lead global SCM targets, benchmarks, scorecards, and best-practice standardization.
24. Select and deploy SCM IT systems; drive network design and capability development.
25. Build strong cross-functional and global stakeholder partnerships.
Talent & Organization
26. Build and develop a high-performing global SCM organization.
27. Lead coaching, training, succession planning, and long-term capability building.
What You Need
28. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred
29. 20+ years in global supply chain leadership or complex operations
30. Deep expertise in SCM frameworks, systems, and digital solutions
31. Automotive experience preferred
32. Strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and executive communication
33. Proven ability to lead global, cross-cultural teams and drive transformation
