Legal Counsel
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and business-oriented Legal Counsel to support the legal function of our Poland subsidiary. This role will act as a key legal partner to the local business, ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and supporting commercial operations in a dynamic international environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of legal documents in both German and English (e.g. commercial contracts, service agreements, leasing agreements, NDAs).
* Provide practical and business-oriented legal advice, opinions, and memoranda to internal stakeholders.
* Handle debt collection matters, including pre-litigation and enforcement procedures.
* Manage litigation cases and represent the company independently before German courts where applicable.
* Oversee corporate legal matters, including compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.
* Act as a liaison between the local entity and headquarters’ legal department, ensuring alignment and timely reporting.
* Translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable recommendations for non-legal stakeholders.
* Select, instruct, and manage external law firms, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective legal services.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or above in Law (Master’s degree preferred).
* Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience as a lawyer or in-house legal counsel in Germany.
* Solid knowledge of German legal system; experience in construction machinery, engineering, or financial leasing is an advantage.
* Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
* Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in managing external counsel is preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
* Qualified to practice law in Germany (e.g. Attorney-at-law / Legal Counsel) is strongly preferred.
* Ability to represent the company in German courts is a significant advantage.
Languages
* Professional proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
