About your role
1. Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the bank’s AML/CFT framework (in particular, AML Act, § 25h KWG)
2. Act as deputy to the MLRO and represent the function internally and externally when required
3. Monitor compliance with applicable AML/CFT laws, regulations, and supervisory requirements
4. Review and assess suspicious activity reports (SARs) and support decision-making on regulatory filings
5. Oversee customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring processes
6. Advise business units on AML/CFT-related matters, including high-risk customers, products, and transactions
7. Support the assessment and mitigation of money laundering and terrorist financing risks
8. Contribute to AML risk assessments, policies, procedures, and internal controls
9. Coordinate with Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and relevant control functions
10. Support regulatory audits, inspections, and interactions with supervisory authorities
11. Contribute to AML/CFT training and awareness programs across the bank
12. Involvement in the new product process
13. Submit suspicious activity reports to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) as well as filing criminal charges
14. Point of contact and coordinator for internal and external auditors regarding their audit areas related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and criminal activities
15. Regular and situation-related reporting, particularly to the responsible member of the management board and if applicable to the statutory supervisory body of the management.
About you
You are a suitable candidate for the role if you have/are:
16. Several years of professional experience in AML/CFT, Compliance, or Financial Crime within a banking or financial services environment
17. Sound knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and supervisory expectations
18. Experience in setting up monitoring systems
19. Experience in reviewing suspicious transactions and SARs is an advantage
20. Strong analytical skills and a high level of integrity and discretion
21. Structured, independent, and risk-aware working style
22. Fluent in German and good English skills
