We are looking to hire a procurement director of Newrest Germany Country.
Position Overview :
As part of the development of its Inflight Catering activities in Germany, is looking for a Procurement Director to build and lead the country procurement strategy across Food and Non-Food categories.
This strategic leadership role is key to supporting business growth, operational excellence, and profitability improvement, with a target of achieving a 5% cost reduction over the next five years while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will join the country leadership team and play a central role in shaping and driving the procurement transformation agenda.
Procurement Strategy & Leadership
4. Define and implement the procurement strategy for Germany across Food and Non-Food categories. related to the budget and group Strategy.
5. Build a high-performing procurement organization aligned with business objectives.
6. Develop long-term sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships.
7. Drive procurement transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Cost Optimization & Financial Performance
8. Deliver a 5% reduction in procurement spend over the next five years.
9. Lead and optimize theoretical food cost management.
10. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through:
11. supplier consolidation,
12. strategic sourcing,
13. product standardization,
14. recipe optimization,
15. international sourcing,
16. logistics optimization.
17. Monitor procurement KPIs and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
18. Work closely with:
19. the Executive Chef,
20. Commercial Department,
21. Operations,
22. Finance,
23. Supply Chain teams.
24. Support recipe and menu optimization initiatives to improve profitability while maintaining product quality and customer experience.
25. Partner with commercial teams on customer tenders and business development opportunities.
Supplier Management & Sourcing
26. Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships in Germany and internationally.
27. Secure supply continuity in a volatile and inflationary market environment.
28. Negotiate framework agreements and key supplier contracts.
29. Ensure supplier compliance with quality, food safety, sustainability, and corporate standards.
Leadership & Governance
30. Actively contribute as a member of the country leadership team.
31. Provide strategic input to support business growth and operational performance.
32. Lead change management initiatives and foster a performance-driven procurement culture.
33. Develop, mentor, and strengthen local procurement teams.
Perfil
Candidate Profile
34. Master’s degree or equivalent in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Food Industry Management.
35. Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement roles, ideally within:
36. inflight catering,
37. food manufacturing,
38. hospitality,
39. food service,
40. or international operational environments.
41. Strong expertise in Food Procurement.
42. Proven experience building procurement strategies and delivering measurable savings programs.
43. Strong business acumen with a good understanding of culinary, operational, and commercial challenges.
44. Comfortable operating in multicultural and fast-paced international environments.
