We are seeking a proactive and motivated Working Student to support our location HR Business Partner in Cologne. In this position, you will handle a variety of administrative HR tasks that currently require onsite support and play an important role in transferring these responsibilities to our HR Shared Service Centre (SSC) in Manchester.
This role offers hands‑on exposure to both operational and strategic HR topics, including German labour law, HR processes, documentation, and internal communication. What you will do:
6. Develop and structure informational materials on German labour regulations for managers, employees, and the HR Shared Service Centre (SSC)
7. Support the preparation of HR training sessions (e.g., sick leave and reintegration, termination processes, disciplinary procedures, vacation rules)
8. Temporarily take on local HR administrative tasks (e.g., issuing certificates/Arbeitszeugnisse, managing maternity leave processes) and help ensure a smooth handover to the HR SSC
9. Monitor and follow up on HR service tickets while working closely with SSC colleagues in Manchester
10. Assist in preparing key site meetings, including Townhalls, Site Leadership Team meetings, and Works Council sessions
11. Support the onboarding process for new employees at the Cologne site
12. Create and maintain internal communication content (Teams posts, intranet/CoLab pages)
13. Contribute to Health & Safety initiatives (e.g., flu vaccination campaigns)
14. Manage physical mail, scanning, archiving, and general HR document administration
What we are looking for:
15. Currently enrolled at a German university with at least one year remaining in your studies
16. Strong knowledge of using Microsoft office
17. Field of study: Business Administration, HR Management, or a related discipline
18. Native‑level German and business‑fluent English
19. Strong interest in HR topics, including German labour law
20. Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently
21. Comfortable using digital tools, online resources, and AI‑based solutions
22. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
