In the department Biospectroscopy for the Bioimaging research group, we invite applications for a: PhD Candidate (m/f/d) This position is part of the Leibniz Science Campus “Cardio-Oncology Campus for Precision Medicine”, with focus on the analysis and development of biomarker profiles for the personalized assessment of cardiovascular risks associated with cancer therapy. Analysis of murine tissue samples (heart and tumor tissue) to determine their immune cell infiltration profiles 3D imaging analyses using fluorescence microscopy techniques (e.g., confocal laser scanning microscopy, light-sheet fluorescence microscopy) MALDI MSI, laser microdissection MS, and LC-MS analyses to identify metabolite, lipid, and protein profiles in murine tissue and blood Evaluation, analysis, and visualization of data Documentation of laboratory work Collaboration with project partners and regular presentation of results M.Sc. or a degree in a natural science field (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics) or a comparable qualification (e.g., pharmacy, food technology) Experience in a laboratory setting, ideally in bioanalytics, imaging, or immunology Practical knowledge of mass spectrometry and/or microscopy A willingness to engage in interdisciplinary scientific work, the ability to work in a team, an open-minded attitude, and a commitment to the work are required Strong communication skills, organisational talent and a solution-oriented approach Proficiency in MS Office Willingness to travel for work Excellent written and spoken English; German would be an advantage A clear research topic as well as multifold training and support for PhD students in framework of ISAS and the Leibniz association Training and scientific development opportunities in an international environment and an excellent working atmosphere in a very dynamic and professional team Extensive state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure in various analytical methods The opportunity to present your data on international conferences and participate in workshops A wide range of opportunities for further training and qualifications Flexible working times, mobile working and attractive social benefits Family-friendly facilities and support from a family service Non-residents who apply for this job will receive help from the institute to find accommodation and to handle authorities.
