Regional Lead/Operations Director (Germany)

We are partnering with a leading international delivery specialist operating in the mission-critical and data centre sector. Our client supports hyperscale and colocation customers across Europe and other global markets, with a strong track record in complex power generation and critical infrastructure projects.
As part of a major European expansion strategy, Germany has been identified as a key growth market. The business is now establishing a new German entity and regional office, creating a rare opportunity for an experienced Operations Director to lead this greenfield launch.
This is a senior leadership role with full regional responsibility, offering significant autonomy, long-term growth potential, and executive-level exposure across Europe, the UK, and the US.
The Role
As Operations Director and Regional Lead for Germany, you will take full ownership of setting up and scaling the German operation. You will be responsible for building the team, establishing delivery capability, and driving operational excellence across a substantial project pipeline.
Key responsibilities include:
* Full accountability for the German regional P&L, including a pipeline in excess of €300m
* Acting as the senior escalation point for clients and internal stakeholders
* Representing the business at executive and client level across Germany
* Establishing and leading the German regional office in Frankfurt or Berlin
* Recruiting, leading, and developing an initial team of approximately 6–8 people in year one, with rapid scaling as new projects are secured
* Providing senior oversight of mission-critical power generation and infrastructure projects, primarily supporting data centre clients
* Ensuring delivery standards align with UK and US client expectations
* Balancing local German delivery practices with international client requirements
* Building strong, trusted relationships with clients, principal contractors, supply chain partners, and internal leadership teams
* Contributing to the wider European growth strategy and organisational structure
Candidate Profile
We are looking to speak with senior operational leaders who are motivated by building something from the ground up and operating with real ownership.
You will ideally bring:
* Experience operating at Director, Associate Director, or Project Director level
* Full right to work in Germany
* Fluency in both German and English
* Proven experience setting up teams, offices, or new business units
* Experience working within a multinational or inter-company environment, ideally involving UK or US stakeholders
* A strong operational background in mission-critical or complex construction delivery, preferably within power infrastructure or M&E
* A hands-on, pragmatic, and adaptable leadership style
* A strong ownership mindset and self-starter mentality
* The ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day operational involvement
