We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientist (m/f/d) to join our R&D team focused on Downstream Processing (DSP) of recombinant proteins. In this role, you will lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of purification processes for nanobody / antibody-based therapeutic proteins, contributing to the advancement of our biopharmaceutical pipeline.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
1. Design and execute experiments for purification of recombinant proteins
2. Analyze and interpret data to guide process development and troubleshooting
3. Collaborate cross-functionally with other RnD teams
4. Contribute scientifically to the project progress, lead project discussions and development
5. Develop scalable and robust DSP processes
6. Author technical reports, protocols, and regulatory documentation
7. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in protein purification
Your expertise and ideal skill set
8. PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Structural biology or related field
9. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in DSP of recombinant proteins in an industrial or academic setting, preferably with focus on nanobody and antibody expression and purification
10. Background in immunology or coagulation is a plus
11. Strong expertise in chromatography (affinity, ion exchange, HIC, SEC), ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and process scale-up (optional)
12. Experience in DSP analytics – SDS PAGE, Western Blot, SEC-MALS (optional)
13. Excellent problem-solving, communication, project management and organizational skills
14. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
15. Proficiency in English as well as confident usage of MS Office
