For our Data & Analytics department at our Salzgitter or Lüneburg locations, we are seeking a Data Engineer – Energy Networks to start as soon as possible, on a fixed-term contract until December 30, 2027 .
Our team consists of ten data and digitalization experts who jointly develop solutions for data integration, data analytics, digital applications, and AI solutions. We work closely with the specialist departments, combining technical know-how with practical experience, and thus actively shape the data-driven development of network processes.
A challenging task
* Data integration & data flows:
You will contribute to the conception and development of data-based applications for network and asset processes and define data flows and interfaces between IT/OT systems and cloud data platforms.
* Data provision & harmonization:
You ensure that data from operational systems is consolidated and usable for analytical applications, reports and operational processes.
* ETL Design & Implementation:
You design, implement and operate ETL processes — from data extraction and transformation to deployment in cloud-based target databases.
* Data modeling & analysis:
You analyze source structures, model data and develop robust and scalable data models.
* Cloud & system landscapes:
You will be involved in the setup, configuration and monitoring of cloud and database infrastructures as well as interface processes.
* Use-case preparation & integration:
You prepare data from different source systems for digital network processes, analytical models and operational applications, and accompany new data solutions until productive integration.
* Reporting & Analytics:
You develop reporting and analysis solutions (especially with Power BI) and ensure a continuous data supply.
* Requirements analysis & architecture:
You analyze business requirements, develop IT and data architectures, and coordinate closely with internal and external partners to manage and support the technical implementation.
A convincing background
* Education & Qualifications:
A completed degree in computer science, business informatics or a comparable field, or relevant professional experience.
* Technology knowledge & tools:
You have knowledge of some of the following technologies and methods: MS Azure Platform (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory, DevOps), Power BI, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), Python, Git, CI/CD, ETL methods (e.g., REST APIs), SQL, Unity Catalog
* Analytics & Conceptualization:
You possess strong analytical and conceptual skills and enjoy creating concrete added value from data.
* Working style:
You work in a structured, process-oriented, customer-focused, independent and proactive manner – and give constructive feedback to the team.
* Languages:
Very good German and English skills (at least C1 level).
