ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a full-time Engineer, Welding Consumables R&D&I (m/f/d) (35 hours/week) to join our Eisenberg (Palatinate) location as soon as possible. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the following tasks:
Welding consumables product design:
Development of new welding consumables for
* Different segments and applications
* Changing industry requirements
* Customer specific requirements
* New steel / material grades introduced to market
* Sustainability related requirement
* Any company specific innovative initiative
Product modifications
Work on product improvements based on
* Anticipation of changing chemicals and steels, and raw material supplying situations / geo-political developments
* Fine tuning the products to customer and market needs
* Analysis of customer feedback
* Performing industry and internal benchmarking
Manufacturing support / new process exploration / Quality Assurance
* Improve product manufacturability, cost & competitiveness
* Allow for alternative chemicals and steels
* Assurance of product performance corresponds to customer expectations
* Improvement in product consistency
* Participate in new initiatives in improving manufacturing process and product performance
* Assist in Quality Assurance and Laboratory work
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE POSITION
* Bachelor or Masters Degree in Chemistry (Preferably Inorganic chemistry) or Materials Science
* Knowledge of chemicals, Ceramics / refractory, Minerology, Metallic materials, Metallurgy or similar
* Experiences from relevant industries in the areas of product engineering, development and/or manufacturing process
* Knowledge of Quality Management is a plus
* Knowledge of German and English is mandatory. Knowledge of other European language(s) is a plus
