Job Description
We are seeking a visionary Director of Application & System Architecture to lead the definition and delivery of advanced semiconductor‑based system solutions across Industrial, and IoT markets. You will guide a team of architects, shape cross‑domain solution roadmaps, and drive alignment between customer needs, market trends, and Renesas product strategies. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to influence across business units and global customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing team of system and application architects.
2. Define system‑level solutions for Industrial, and IoT applications using Renesas MCUs/MPUs, SoCs, power devices, sensors, and connectivity.
3. Translate customer problems and market trends into system requirements, architecture definitions, and long‑term solution roadmaps.
4. Align system architecture strategies with Product Groups, solution marketing, and engineering teams.
5. Drive HW/SW partitioning, interface definition, and system integration with focus on cost, performance, scalability, and manufacturability.
6. Oversee system specifications (SRDs), reference designs, simulation workflows, and real‑world use‑case validation.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASIL, SIL/IEC, EMC, cybersecurity).
8. Conduct competitive benchmarking, identify capability gaps, and guide PG roadmaps with strategic insight.
9. Support customer engagements, co‑development activities, and complex system design reviews.
10. Promote internal knowledge sharing, standards, best practices, and cross‑domain architecture methodologies.
11. Collaborate with ecosystem partners, startups, and academic institutions to evaluate emerging technologies.
Qualifications
Qualifications
12. Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
13. 12+ years in system/application architecture with 3+ years in technical leadership.
14. Strong background in embedded systems across Industrial, or IoT applications.
15. Experience with mixed‑signal design, embedded software, power electronics, and real‑time control.
16. Proficiency in system modeling and simulation (e.g., Simulink, PLECS, SPICE).
17. Knowledge of (CAN‑FD, Ethernet, ISO 26262), industrial (EtherCAT, Modbus), and IoT connectivity standards.
18. Excellent analytical skills, communication abilities, and cross‑functional leadership experience.
19. Fluent in English; German or other EU languages are a plus.
