For our growing cyber underwriting team in Frankfurt, we are looking for motivated talent who wants to build a career in cyber insurance and contribute to a specialist underwriting platform with strong European ambition.
The Role
As Underwriter / Senior Underwriter – Tech E&O, you will be responsible for underwriting technology professional liability risks and playing an active role in developing Orvia’s Tech E&O book.
This is a growth-oriented role. You will help build a profitable and sustainable portfolio by assessing new business opportunities, developing broker relationships, shaping underwriting appetite and contributing to the positioning of Orvia’s Tech E&O proposition in Germany and wider European markets.
Depending on your experience level, you will either take ownership of complex risks and broker relationships or grow into this responsibility with the support of the Head of Cyber and senior colleagues.
You will work closely with the Head of Cyber, internal underwriting colleagues, brokers and capacity partners to assess risks, structure coverage, negotiate terms and support the strategic growth of Orvia’s Financial Lines offering.
Key Responsibilities
* Underwrite Tech E&O and related professional liability risks within agreed authority.
* Actively support the development of Orvia’s Tech E&O book in Germany and wider European markets.
* Identify and pursue profitable new business opportunities together with brokers and market partners.
* Review submissions, analyse exposures, assess coverage requirements and price risks appropriately.
* Build and maintain strong broker relationships to support sustainable portfolio growth.
* Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing and coverage wording.
* Contribute to underwriting appetite, product development, guidelines and market positioning.
* Support portfolio management, reporting and performance analysis.
* Share knowledge across the cyber and technology underwriting team.
* Represent Orvia in the German and wider European specialty insurance market.
Your Profile
* Underwriting experience in Tech E&O, Professional Indemnity, Cyber or Specialty Lines.
* Strong interest in helping build and develop a specialist Tech E&O portfolio.
* Good understanding of technology companies, software providers, IT services, SaaS, cloud, outsourcing and digital business models.
* Knowledge of policy wordings, coverage structures, exclusions and claims considerations.
* Commercial mindset with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
* Ability to build trusted broker relationships and identify profitable business opportunities.
* Broker network in Germany or wider European markets would be an advantage.
* Fluent German and English.
* Confident, independent and comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial underwriting environment.
