Airfreight Export Operator (m/f/d)
📍 Düsseldorf
Stable business. Trusted management. A team where people actually enjoy coming to work.
If you’re working in Airfreight Export and feel like everything has become a bit too rigid, too stressed, or too KPI-driven — this could be a refreshing change.
This role sits within a growing air & sea freight branch of a Top 10 global forwarder in Düsseldorf. This is a place where constant training and career growth is available.
The business is expanding and they are actively hiring now — ideally to start yesterday, realistically March or April.
This is a replacement role, but the wider team is growing too.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll be part of a 45-person branch handling both air and sea freight, with a mixed team of experienced operators and younger colleagues. The environment is deliberately relaxed, flexible, and built on trust rather than micromanagement.
This is a true A–Z Airfreight Export Operations role, giving you full ownership rather than just being a “cog in the system”.
You can be trained up on Cargowise and Dangerous Goods if you've not experienced these before.
The working culture
This is not a stiff corporate environment, despite being part of a global group.
* Management style: Trust-based, open-door, common sense
* Doctor’s appointment? Make the time up later.
* People are encouraged to enjoy work, not burn out
* The branch operates like a family business, backed by a global parent
* Training, HR support, and long-term development are genuinely taken seriously
Branch Manager - “People should have fun at work and not be stressed. That’s the objective.”
What you can expect:
* End-to-end Airfreight Export operations
* Working with a stable customer base and recurring flows
* Global destinations but mainly South East Asia and Transatlantic
* Late shift (10:00–18:00) only 1 week per month
* Core hours 08:00–17:00, with flexibility agreed within the team
* Systems: CargoWise One (training provided)
* 2 days home office after probation
* Laptop provided + full home-office screen setup
* 28 days annual leave
* Salary €40,000 – €55,000, paid over 13 salaries
(higher salaries are available for the right person)
And yes — dogs are welcome in the office.
The Giant Schnauzer Max is already part of the furniture.
Who would suit this role?
You don’t need to be perfect — attitude matters more than logos on your CV.
Ideal background:
* Airfreight Export Operations experience in Germany
* A valid ZÜP is ideal (or previously held — can be renewed)
* German level B1 is sufficient
* Fresh Ausbildung candidates are welcome
* Reliable, stable CVs preferred
* Part-time available: 30hrs+
They are open on age and seniority — this could suit someone early in their career or a more experienced operator wanting a healthier environment.
Also worth knowing
* The goods you'd be handling include machinery, electronics, and some Dangerous Goods (training provided)
* There are team members already working hybrid from Cologne, so more days home office are possible if you're further away
* Flexibility is real, not just promised
* Airfreight Manager is currently on holiday for 3 weeks — interviews are still ongoing
