Sinclair James is partnering with a prominent European aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organisation undergoing an extensive digital transformation. We are seeking an Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the company’s digital strategy, oversee systems modernisation, and strengthen IT governance across maintenance, engineering, and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning technology initiatives with overall business objectives and delivering large-scale transformation projects, including system upgrades, cybersecurity enhancements, and legacy system integration. This is a high-level leadership role requiring strategic vision, hands-on delivery capabilities, and strong stakeholder engagement at Board level within the aviation or MRO sector.
* Proven experience as CIO, IT Director, or Head of IT within aviation, aerospace, or similar complex engineering environments
* Expertise in MRO systems, ERP solutions such as SAP, Dynamics 365, or IFS Maintenix
* Experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects, digital transformation, and cybersecurity initiatives
* Ability to operate effectively at Board level while maintaining a detail-oriented, delivery-focused approach
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, particularly within international, multi-site organisations
* Fluent in English; proficiency in German is highly advantageous
