French Consulting is seeking a Technical Writer & Business Development Specialist to help craft winning proposals that support healthcare, logistics, and military community services contracts for U.S. military installations. You'll help shape our mission success by telling our story clearly, accurately, and compellingly—and your work will contribute to real-world impact for military service members and their families. This position is an excellent fit for a military spouse or someone with first-hand experience supporting military life, offering both professional fulfillment and scheduling flexibility. What You’ll Do Proposal Development Write, format, and edit proposal content, including technical sections, staffing plans, management approaches, and past performance narratives. Ensure all submissions are compliant, well-organized, and delivered on time. Support pricing volume development by providing templates, research, and formatting assistance. Coordinate and lead proposal kick-off meetings, draft outlines, and track progress from inception to submission. Market Research & Opportunity Tracking Research solicitation history and competitor activity to enhance proposal strategy. Monitor opportunities via SAM.gov, GovWin, and similar portals; assist in bid/no-bid analysis. Respond to RFIs, Sources Sought, and other government inquiries. Database & Document Management Maintain and update internal proposal and past performance databases. Collect and organize supporting documents such as PPQs, CPARs, and customer feedback. Manage company registration and compliance data in SAM.gov and other platforms. Collaboration & Strategic Support Work closely with recruiting and operations teams to align strategy and content. Participate in internal and partner meetings, including quarterly pipeline reviews. Occasionally visit work sites to gain first-hand insight and enhance proposal relevance.
