American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) seeks an innovative Data Scientist with demonstrated expertise in advanced A/B testing and statistical experimentation in real-world environments. You will be a member of the AI/ML, Data Science Teams and play an important role in GBT’s travel supply distribution platform working with a dedicated Product Analyst, Experimentation Manager and cross-functional teams supporting AMEX GBT improve its experimentation capabilities and help build a faster, more reliable, more adaptive and efficient experimentation platform, driving better product decisions at scale.
What you will be doing:
1. Advance Experimentation MethodologiesDesign and implement sequential testing to detect winners faster to shorten experiment duration while maintaining statistical rigorExplore and prototype Bayesian approaches, adaptive sampling, and other intelligent allocation methods to optimize traffic efficientlyPartner with teams to evaluate and introduce causal inference techniques to improve the reliability of experiment results and reduce bias
2. Improve Data and InfrastructureCollaborate with GBT platform engineering to integrate statistical models into the experimentation platformEnsure experimentation data pipelines are reliable, scalable and consumable for advanced statistical methods
3. Research and InnovateStay current on advancements in statistical testing and adaptive experimentationPropose and test innovative methodologies to improve experiment platform and decision quality
What we're looking for:
4. At least 5 Years essential experience in A/B Testing and advanced experimentation
5. Fluency in English, written and spoken
6. Knowledge in Python, SQL, Hive, Tableau, Hadoop, product analytics (e.g. Google Analytics), Amazon AWS or GCP or Azure Platforms
7. Subject matter knowledge in statistics, analytics, data science, machine learning, deep learning, cloud and full stack technologies
8. Hands-on experience analyzing large amounts of data to derive actionable insights
9. Outstanding communication skills and partnerships with technology, product strategy, and data office
10. Self-starter and autonomous; work with a distributed team and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership
11. Degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, operations research, economics, engineering or information science
12. A strong portfolio of GitHub, Kaggle, IP contributions
