Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented WTG Quality Inspector to oversee the quality of Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) components, products, and deliveries at our supplier’s manufacturing facility in Cuxhaven, Germany. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with project quality standards and maintaining a strong partnership with the supplier.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and inspect nacelle completion activities, including the nacelle backend, generator, and hub.
* Participate actively in supplier-led inspection and testing processes, including FAI and FAT.
* Monitor manufacturing progress in accordance with the project schedule and report deviations.
* Identify, document, and report non-conformities and observations using the clients NCR system (e.g., Synergi).
* Perform spot checks on production activities and related documentation.
* Follow up on the condition and maintenance of the supplier’s storage areas.
* Support coordination and spot checks of Employer Deliveries.
* Track and analyse trends related to recurring non-conformities, working with the supplier on corrective and preventive actions.
* Ensure the quality criteria applied by the supplier align with project requirements.
* Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities and inspections.
* Prioritise inspection and test activities based on component criticality and failure trends.
* Review quality-related as-built documentation.
* Raise and communicate any relevant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) concerns.
Deliverables
* Comprehensive inspection and manufacturing reports.
* Timely and accurate non-conformity reports submitted via Synergi.
Requirements
* Must bring personal protective equipment (PPE), including a flashlight.
* Technical education relevant to wind turbine manufacturing or related fields.
* Valid safety training certifications required for site access and job performance (e.g., GWO, L_AUS).
* A minimum of three years’ experience within the wind sector or manufacturing industry.
* At least one year of experience in a similar quality inspection role is preferred.
Work Schedule
* Standard hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
* Shift rotation may include early and late shifts, as well as approximately four night shifts per month.
* Weekend work is not planned but may occur on occasion.
* Travel to Hamburg or Denmark may be required for onboarding and training.
* Due to HSE considerations, access and work restrictions may apply and could impact chargeable workdays.
Preferred Profile
* Resides within commuting distance of the manufacturing site in Cuxhaven.
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
