Regional Medical Advisor – Ophthalmology & Rare Disease – Germany (Contract, Field-Based)
A globally recognised integrated ophthalmic leader—with more than 80 years of expertise in researching, developing, manufacturing, and commercialising eye-care solutions—is seeking a Regional Medical Advisor to join its Medical Affairs team.
With a portfolio spanning pharmaceuticals, surgical devices, and diagnostics, this organisation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients with serious ophthalmic and rare diseases. Operating internationally, they are at the forefront of delivering innovative, evidence-based solutions to support better clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide medical information and communication to healthcare professionals across Germany.
* Drive medical education and training programmes.
* Facilitate Investigator Initiated Trials and engage with Key Opinion Leaders in ophthalmology and rare disease.
* Contribute to Research & Clinical Development initiatives.
* Represent the company at scientific conferences and meetings.
* Collaborate with the Commercial team while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements.
Desired Profile:
* Advanced degree in biomedical sciences (Dipl., MD, PharmD, PhD).
* Proven experience in ophthalmology; experience in rare diseases is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to engage with Key Opinion Leaders in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector.
* Background in roles such as MSL, Medical Advisor, Medical Manager, or similar.
* Strong understanding of the drug development process and solid business acumen.
* Proven project management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
* Highly organised, adaptable, and willing to travel extensively across Germany.
