Within a highly complex and diverse truck portfolio, we maintain an overview and ensure technical feasibility and variant management throughout the entire product development process. Technical feasibility means, for example, that a truck has exactly four (or depending on the model, six or eight) wheels, but not two engines. Our work forms the basis for the development departments to work with fully configurable data models and for the sales teams to sell our customers exactly the trucks they need and that can be built in the production plants. While we have relied on our established methods for documenting, displaying, and maintaining our diverse and complex product portfolio for many years, we recognize the need to explore new, modern alternatives.
