Your team

You will be part of Directorate General Human Resources (DG/HR), consisting of over 100 professionals serving more than 5,000 employees. We are transforming how we operate -simplifying processes, leveraging technology, and embedding future-focused, people-centred, and data-driven practices. The Employee Services Division is currently responsible for policies, processes, and operations related to topics such as working conditions, contracts, payroll, health and well-being, pensions, insurance, and the social integration of staff and their families. In addition, it supports the Directorate General’s IT systems and provides people data and analytics.

In your role as Senior HR Solutions Expert, you will be part of a team responsible for total rewards policy design and review, including data analysis and benchmarking, case management and advising operational teams. You will work closely with colleagues within the ECB Business Areas and you are expected to collaborate and exchange with experts in the ESCB and IFI networks.

Your role

As a Senior HR Solutions Expert you will:

* ensure that the organisation has a fair, consistent and competitive total rewards package;
* proactively provide specific advice and recommendations and support strategic projects on complex issues in the field of total rewards;
* manage complex cases, including liaising with relevant teams in Legal, Audit, internal/external functions in charge of Data Protection or the Mediator Offices;
* develop data-driven proposals to identify and implement best practice policies;
* provide support to the HR operations function;
* draft and present documents to the management team and communicate HR policy across the organisation;
* maintain an active network of contacts with relevant internal and external counterparts.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential:

* a master’s degree or equivalent in human resources, finance, business administration or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
* a minimum of 7 and ideally 10 or more years’ experience in the field of total rewards or similar topics, preferably in the public domain;
* sound understanding of EU employment regulations, employment frameworks and labour law;
* professional experience in understanding and applying complex concepts and data;
* a track record in HR policy optimisation projects:
* excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability of building constructive relationships to reach consensus with stakeholders;
* excellent communication skills, including written communication and presenting complex matters to decision makers and other stakeholders;
* a sound knowledge of software applications, databases and reporting tools used for managing HR data and processes;
* an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages .
