As a Data Scientist focusing on SAP AI at Döhler, you use AI and Machine Learning to enhance and automate business processes across our SAP landscape. Embedded in cross-functional teams (e.g. Finance, Supply Chain, Production, Sales), you turn operational and process data into insights and intelligent services, and integrate AI capabilities directly into SAP application workstreams. You build and operationalize ML and GenAI use cases on SAP BTP (including SAP AI Core and related services) so that our SAP solutions become smarter, more efficient and easier to use.
Collaborate with Business Process Owners and Key Users across SAP modules to identify data-driven opportunities and translate operational data into models for predictive, optimization, and anomaly detection using Python and ML frameworks
Apply advanced feature engineering, interpretable modeling, and mathematical optimization to deliver actionable insights, forecasts, risk scores, and recommendations for SAP-relevant business processes
Design and implement AI services on SAP BTP, including GenAI- and LLM-based assistants for contextual co-pilots, knowledge support, and automated document processing, integrated into SAP applications via APIs, events, and extensions
Develop, maintain, and secure APIs and lightweight applications to expose ML models to SAP workflows, collaborating with SAP development and architecture teams to ensure scalable, compliant, and robust AI integration
Design, implement, and maintain reproducible data and ML pipelines on SAP BTP and cloud platforms, ensuring seamless data flow, quality checks, versioning, logging, and traceability across SAP and AI components
Monitor model performance in production SAP workflows, driving continuous improvement, retraining, and the adoption of innovative AI/ML methods for use cases like forecasting, predictive quality, automation, and co-pilot assistants
Support SAP transformation initiatives and innovation programs by enabling AI literacy, coaching key users and developers, and promoting effective use and interpretation of AI solutions within SAP environments
Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or similar; interest in enterprise applications and SAP ecosystems is a strong plus
Strong skills in Python, data/ML libraries, and applied ML; Experience with cloud environments, preferably SAP BTP (e.g. SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, HANA Cloud, CAP) and Azure; Ability to translate SAP business requirements into ML solutions and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and SAP experts
