Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Battery System Integration Engineer to join our Munich team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the critical technical liaison between our global headquarters and European operations. You will be instrumental in launching our EV battery and Stationary Energy Storage System (ESS) products, developing a robust local supply chain, and establishing a world-class global ESS after-sales technical support framework. Your core mission is to ensure our products achieve technical compliance, market competitiveness, and strong local support across Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Project Launch & Technical Compliance Support:
- Provide comprehensive battery system integration support for the localization and launch of overseas vehicle projects and ESS projects in Europe.
-Ensure all battery-related aspects (performance, safety, interfaces) meet stringent European technical regulations, standards (e.g., UN ECE R100, R136,EU Battery Regulation, CE marking for ESS).
- Address and resolve technical, regulatory, and quality issues during the European homologation and launch phases.
2.Local Production Project Execution:
- Support the successful implementation of battery Knock-Down (KD) assembly projects in Europe.
-Provide on-site engineering support for process setup, quality control, and technical issue resolution during local battery pack assembly.
- Provide on-site engineering support to resolve technical issues during and after local ESS installation.
3. Market Intelligence & Technology benchmarking:
- Monitor and analyze the latest technology trends in the European battery market (e.g., cell chemistry, fast-charging, system design).
- Research and map the European supplier landscape for batteries and key components.
- Provide strategic insights and reports to inform global R&D and product planning.
4. Supply Chain Development & Localization:
- Evaluate and audit potential European battery suppliers (cell manufacturers, module/pack integrators) for their technical capability, product quality, and manufacturing competence.
- Lead technical assessments and due diligence to qualify new suppliers.
- Actively contribute to the company's localization strategy by building a qualified and competitive local battery supplier base to increase regional content.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in battery system integration, design, or application engineering within the automotive industry.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of battery system architecture, BMS, thermal management, safety mechanisms, and testing.
- Familiarity with European and international battery regulations, standards, and homologation processes (e.g., EU Battery Directive/Regulation, ISO 26262,ESS CE certification ).
- Supply Chain Acumen: Proven experience in supplier technical evaluation, audit processes, and quality system assessment.
- Language: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in German is a strong advantage for daily operations and local integration.
- Soft Skills: Excellent cross-cultural communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and proactively in an international environment.
