Context for the Role:
The Ardonagh Group is a diversified insurance distribution platform which ranks as a top 15 insurance broker globally. It operates globally across 5 platforms in the UK, Europe, APAC, LATAM and its specialist London Wholesale market business. It places $18Bn of insurance premium annually, generating c. £2.0Bn of income. It is owned by funds managed by HPS Investment Partners, Madison Dearborn Partners, Stonepoint Capital Partners, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, management and employees.
Ardonagh Group established Ardonagh Europe in 2022 to deliver growth through investment in several carefully identified European markets and is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. It has grown rapidly and now has operations in Netherlands, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Greece. It employs c. 1,500 people and distributes over €2Bn of GWP annually.
Orvia Underwriting is being established by Ardonagh Europe to combine several Ardonagh owned MGA operations within a single brand and operating platform with ambitious plans to grow into a market leading pan European underwriting business.
To support its growth Orvia Underwriting is recruiting a Head of Human Resources to establish a HR function which operates across Orvia Underwriting’s branches.
Purpose of the Role:
This role will report the CEO Orvia Underwriting and will involve:
* Work with Orvia Underwriting Management to identify and implement actions to deliver a high functioning HR service to Orvia Underwriting’s central team and its trading branches across Europe.
* Develop and execute HR plans to support Orvia Underwriting’s objectives, vision and values.
* Provide leadership and support to local branch HR activity, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of HR programmes and initiatives.
* Support a high-performance culture, where continuous learning, development and improvement are valued and rewarded.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
* Degree in Humas Resources or Business discipline
* CIPD qualified
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a HR management role.
* Knowledge and expertise in employment legislation
* Experience of implementing HR projects particularly in relation to change management.
* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple topics and deliver results in a fast paced environment.
* Track record of designing and implementing HR initiatives to support business leaders.
Preferable:
* Experience working within a regulated financial services environment.

* Excellent communication skills, confidence to communicate with senior management and external bodies
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Good analytical and communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Strong business acumen with an ability to design and align HR practices with strategic business objectives.
