To strengthen the technical governance and operational excellence of its international project portfolio, we are seeking a Technical Director (m/f/d), based in the Netherlands.
Job Description
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Full technical leadership of the operational project business within the assigned region
Direct leadership and development of multidisciplinary technical and operational teams
Advancement, harmonization, and optimization of construction processes, including digital transformation, BIM methodologies, and LEAN concepts
Definition and implementation of strategic objectives in close collaboration with the executive leadership team
Business Development & Market Engagement
Contribution to the acquisition of large‑scale projects, including participation in steering committees and key industry networks
Continuous market analysis with a focus on growth potential and sustainable order acquisition
Strategic customer engagement in partnership with commercial leadership to ensure outstanding client satisfaction
Project Governance & Compliance
Executive oversight of the entire project landscape, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, quality, and risk targets
Ensuring best‑in‑class contract and claims management to secure long‑term business success
Guaranteeing compliance with all technical, regulatory, and safety standards, as well as internal corporate guidelines
Driving the sustainable economic performance of the business unit
The Successful Applicant
Leadership Experience
Degree in civil engineering or a comparable technical field
Extensive professional experience in senior technical roles within the construction industry, ideally with international exposure
Proven leadership personality with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain high‑performing teams
Executive Competencies
Strong strategic and conceptual thinking capabilities
High level of initiative, structured decision‑making, and resilience
Strong communication skills and negotiation confidence at C‑suite and stakeholder levels
Exceptional organizational strength and assertiveness
International Orientation
Excellent command of English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
Intercultural competence and willingness to travel internationally
