About the Role
As a PhD Student in the Harman ADAS Lab, you will benchmark, conceptualize, and develop next-generation end-to-end ADAS models in close collaboration with your peers. You will contribute across the full engineering lifecycle, from early concepts and system analysis through simulation and rapid prototyping to in-vehicle implementation and demonstrations. You will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers from Harman, universities and industry partners throughout the end-to-end ADAS model development lifecycle and report to the Director, ADAS Lab.
What You Will Do
4. Contribute to the research on end-to-end ADAS model safety and implementation strategies.
5. Support the benchmarking & evaluation of end-to-end ADAS models: design datasets and metrics; conduct scenario‑based testing; run closed‑loop SIL/HIL evaluations; analyze results and distill insights for technical decision-making.
6. Improve integration and deployment pipelines for end-to-end models into embedded targets.
7. Act as the primary, technical liaison between Harman and the university: build up a scientist network, align goals, coordinate joint projects, strive for co-creation and co-author publications.
What You Need to Be Successful
8. Master’s degree in computational science, engineering or similar.
9. Highly motivated and self-driven, with a structured mindset, strong analytical thinking, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving in high-performing teams.
10. Demonstrable knowledge of AI/ML model deployment on high-performance SoCs.
11. A thorough understanding of end-to-end ADAS model architectures, datasets and trends.
12. Proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch.

13. SOTIF and FuSa understanding
14. Experience in ADAS system development across the V-model
