About Street Child Germany:
Street Child Germany e.V. is a growing German charity organization that is part of the international Street Child network, committed to ensuring every child has access to education in safe and supportive environments. We focus on empowering local partners and communities in some of the world's most vulnerable settings. Our German team is small, mission-driven, and works collaboratively across borders - attracting support from a healthy balance of institutional, philanthropic, corporate and private sources.
The Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Country Manager Germany to lead the operations and future development of Street Child Germany, at a critical time in the organisations development. Reporting directly to the Board and collaborating closely with our Street Child network partners, the Country Manager Germany will lead all aspects of the organization's functioning — from fundraising and partnerships to day-to-day operations and compliance. Street Child Germany office is located in Munich.
This is a key opportunity for a dynamic professional, bringing either a super fundraising and/or relevant programmatic background, who is ready to grow with the organization and help scale its impact in Germany and ultimately in our project countries, by driving growing, sustainable levels of income from diverse channels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent and grow Street Child Germany as a trusted and impactful non-profit organization
* Develop and implement the Germany fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Board and aligned to our global fundraising strategy
* Lead grant applications and ensure accountability and reporting to German funding partners
* Support and manage our German fundraising team
* Oversee daily operations, including project controlling, finance, administration, HR, and compliance (with support from external fiduciaries and legal partners)
* Drive the optimal level of smart collaboration and healthy relationship, balancing multiple factors, between the German entity and the international Street Child network
* Support governance processes and work closely with the Board on strategy, risk, and reporting
* Drive visibility, partnerships, and future growth opportunities in Germany
Your Profile:
* Residence in Germany is required. Willingness to work mainly from the Munich office is preferred but not essential. Exceptional candidates who are based elsewhere in Germany will be considered - but regular travel to Munich will be essential.
* Passionate identification with the values and goals of Street Child
* Native in German and English at least negotiation level (written and spoken). Any other language a plus, but not a must.
* Excellent at managing strong, trusting relationships with wide ranges of stakeholders.
* Ability to build a team and experience in leading teams to successful outcomes within a partially remote setup
* Independent and solution-oriented, with a hands-on, calm and flexible attitude.
* Comfortable working in a small structure and ambitious about the opportunity to grow the operations
* Extensive experience in German fundraising with foundations, philanthropists and corporates and a good understanding of the local donor landscape is a significant plus - the ability and willingness to engage in this sphere, regardless of prior exposure, is essential
* Broad experience with German institutional funders like Bengo/BMZ, Auswärtiges Amt, EU is a big plus - the ability and willingness to engage in this sphere, regardless of prior exposure, is essential
* Prior experience with German non-profit law, governance, or association management is a plus - the ability and willingness to engage in this sphere, regardless of prior exposure, is essential
What We Offer:
* A meaningful and autonomous role in a globally recognized organization that has grown fast in recent years.
* A team office in Munich: we would prefer regular in-office work combined with flexibility to work remotely.
* The chance to help shape the structure and growth of Street Child Germany
* A committed and experienced board, and access to a vibrant international network
