Job purpose
The Global Supply Chain Value Engineer is enterprise owner of DHL Global Forwarding’s global value engineering strategy for Order Management Solutions (OMS) and International Supply Chain. This role sets the global vision, governance framework, and performance agenda for value creation across customer pursuits, implementations, and ongoing lifecycle engagements.
As a global senior leader, the role drives commercial impact, customer value differentiation, and strategic growth, building methodologies, capabilities, and analytics required to quantify and demonstrate DHL’s business impact. The Senior Director translates complex supply chain operations into compelling financial narratives, supports global strategic deals, and ensures value engineering is deeply embedded across functions, regions, and customer touchpoints.
This position directly shapes global solution strategy, governs value‑based pricing alignment, leads multi‑region transformation initiatives, and partners with Executive Leadership to influence investment decisions, product enhancements, and long-term customer success.
Principal accountabilities
Supply Chain Mapping & Diagnostics
- Own and evolve the Supply Chain Exploration Toolkit and Opportunity Identification Framework.
- Conduct multi-scenario analyses and savings simulations.
- Lead end-to-end exploratory workshops with senior customer stakeholders.
- Translate diagnostic insights into value-generating and cost-saving roadmaps.
Solution Development
- Maintain and further develop the global Solutions & Consulting Playbook.
- Govern best-practice exchange and develop case study repository.
- Partner with design, operations, and commercial teams to develop deployable solutions.
- Build customer-specific P&L and value models.
Value Engineering Strategy
- Lead the Value Engineering stream and define methodology and KPIs.
- Embed value engineering across pursuits and customer lifecycle.
- Enable Business Solutions, Business Development teams and Customer Program Managers via training and capability building.
- Promote thought leadership and internal communication.
Strategic Pricing Alignment
- Integrate value insights into pricing strategy and commercial models.
- Maintain and further develop pricing calculators and value tools.
- Build financial scenarios that demonstrate ROI and long-term value.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience
* International SMT-level consulting and advisory capabilities
* Advanced supply chain design, diagnostics, and scenario modelling
* High proficiency in financial modelling, pricing logic, and P&L impact analysis
* Strong commercial acumen and customer engagement skillset
* Strategic thinking and complex problem solving
* Global program leadership and change management
* Strong storytelling, influencing, and C-suite communication
* Data-driven decision making and analytics governance
Education
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Logistics, Finance, or related field.
Experience
* 6-10 years of experience in consulting, supply chain engineering, value engineering, or commercial strategy roles.
* Proven experience leading global programs, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering multi-million-dollar ROI.
* Strong track record in customer-facing executive engagements.
* Excellent English: additional languages are an asset.
