The Scope
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is implementing several initiatives to support responsible forest management worldwide. To support this important work, we are looking for a motivated Policy Innovation Student Assistant to provide administrative and coordination support to the Policy Innovation Team.
You will contribute with two main areas of work: (i) supporting day-to-day administrative and operational processes, and (ii) contributing to the development and implementation of engagement plans and related activities. You will help to ensure that internal processes run smoothly, while also supporting efforts to inform and engage key stakeholders, including FSC Members..
Depending on the needs and priorities, you will play a role in communication and stakeholder engagement activities, including the preparation of materials and support to outreach activities.
This position combines strong communication, organizational and administrative skills, with an interest in environmental and social issues in forestry. It offers hands-on experience in global forest policy processes within a leading sustainability organization.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
Administrative and operational support:
* Support procurement-related processes, including preparation and follow-up of purchase requests.
* Assist in the creation and processing of invoices and support tracking of payments.
* Support the preparation and management of contracts and Terms of Reference (ToR).
* Help maintain internal tracking systems, documentation, and records.
* Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning team such as keeping internal SharePoint filing system updated.
Engagement, communication, and project support:
* Support the preparation of clear, accurate communication materials on technical and policy topics.
* Assist in the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement plans.
* Participate in and help facilitate dialogues with FSCstakeholders, capturing and synthesizing their feedback and concerns.
* Help prepare briefing notes, FAQs, and explanatory summaries on key issues.
* Conduct outreach activities (e.g. email communication, social media, and virtual events).
* Help organize webinars, meetings and events.
* Track engagement and feedback from stakeholders and support its synthesis.
* Contribute ideas for improving communication materials and engagement approaches.
* Support internal coordination and documentation of activities.
Your profile
* Currently enrolled in a university program (Bachelor’s or Master’s) related to environmental studies, political science, international relations, forestry, social sciences, or a related field.
* Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills – you enjoy reaching out to people and building relationships.
* Interest in environmental policy, sustainability, and participatory governance.
* Proactive and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
* Very comfortable with standard office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.); experience organizing files with SharePoint would bea plus.
* Must have very good written and spoken English (at least C1 or equivalent); additional fluent Spanish and/or French would be a plus.

* Remuneration: €14 gross per hour
