EMEA Controller (Flavors Department)
Eppelheim or Poznan
Controllers at ADM have deep technical knowledge to support the company's operations and controlling function, in addition to having responsibilities for managing a team of highly technical and skilled colleagues. They are expected to develop and maintain good working relationships with business partners and deliver necessary technical and project-related support across the organization. Controllers must stay up-to-date on new regulations and/or standards that impact ADM, create and implement changes to comply with such regulations and/or standards, and be considered an expert in their field to provide excellent customer service to the rest of the organization.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership for continuous improvement in the areas of accounting, standardizing and simplifying processes, internal controls, and internal financial reporting, working closely with COE Controllers, Technical Accounting, Governance, Tax, BU Controllers, and other key stakeholders
2. Provide excellent customer service to key stakeholders, ensuring proper execution service catalogue
3. Manage 3-4 direct reports and their teams
4. Collaborate with other leaders to identify and implement best practices across COE
5. Maintain a strong internal and operational control environment in compliance with company policies.
6. Review and analyze consolidated financial results to ensure they are materially accurate per US GAAP guidelines.
7. Support annual review/revision of Key Financial Controls (SOX requirements), process flows, and work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls.
8. Analyze financial statements and/or supporting schedules and communicate results to stakeholders.
9. Facilitate global consolidation of financial results, disclosure requirements, SOX controls, and other reporting for customers as requested.
10. Support COE projects as approved through demand management to ensure standardization and simplification of processes.
11. Drive continuous improvement through collaboration, innovative ideas, and proactive behavior.
Qualifications
12. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA recommended
13. 8+ years of accounting experience
14. Prior supervisory experience
15. Proficient in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Microsoft Office Suite
16. Prior experience in managing multiple projects at one time and strong data analytics
17. Familiarity with financial planning, forecasting, and analysis processes
18. Familiarity with various inventory costing methodologies.
19. Visualization and communication skills (to a wide range of audiences, both technical and non-technical) are required.
20. Experience with Power BI and large ERP systems (, SAP, etc) a plus
Willingness to work 3 days in the ADM office in Eppelheim or Poznań.
