We need a software/backend developer (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible, permanently, to help develop innovative web applications and work with a growing and agile development team at KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck, Lower Saxony. After an onboarding phase we could align on remote work within Germany. Join us to create and maintain advanced GIS-based web applications in the internal platform to plan and document breeding and production field activities.
What you’ll do:
1. Develop new web-based applications (as part of a broader software platform) in an established team (with focus on DevOps and backend stories)
2. Maintain the existing core application and support the transition to a modular landscape
3. Research and problem-solve for creative and effective solutions
4. Review code from other team members via Azure DevOps merge requests
5. Deploy code frequently into production
6. Collaborate with other team members to find solutions and meet deadlines
7. Maintenance of GIS server landscape (ESRI) and CI/CD pipelines
What you need:
8. Several years of experience in backend development with .Net frameworks (ASP.Net Core, Entity Framework Core)
9. Proficient in C#
10. Experience with relational database systems like Oracle and PostgreSQL
11. Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
12. Ability to create and maintain Docker files and related pipelines
13. Genuinely warm and approachable person with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, e.g. to moderate decision making within the team
14. Willingness to engage with geo information systems (GIS)
15. Intrinsic motivation to understand the systems data architecture and infrastructure
16. Knowledge of web technologies (Typescript, CSS, Angular) and mobile technologies (e.g. hybrid solutions or PWA)
17. Strong understanding of software development best practices
18. Very good English language skills (spoken and written)
What would be nice to have, but we can also support in training it:
19. Knowledge of GIS software (e.g. ESRI, Leaflet, Mapbox) and GIS data management
20. Knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines
21. Experience with DevOps platforms such as Azure DevOps, Jira, GitLab etc.
22. Experience with non-relational database systems like MongoDB
23. Familiarity with Material Design guidelines
24. Experience in agricultural domain
25. German language skills
