Fpr our client, we’re seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with deep expertise in Linux-based embedded systems to help lead the development of Safe Linux platforms for automotive ADAS and Infotainment applications .
This is a hands-on, system-level role based in Munich, where you'll design, optimize, and support embedded software stacks used in next-generation intelligent vehicles. You’ll work across the full lifecycle—from bootloaders to kernel, middleware to real-time performance —collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and the open-source ecosystem.
Your Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of Safe Linux embedded software for automotive-grade platforms
* Architect and optimize system-level components, focusing on performance, safety, and modularity
* Collaborate across domains:
ADAS sensors, infotainment stacks, connectivity, and power management
* Debug and resolve complex issues across multiple layers:
bootloader, kernel, drivers, and user space
* Define development best practices aligned with automotive safety standards (ASIL, Automotive SPICE)
* Guide junior engineers and interface with system architects, validation teams, and customer programs
What You Bring:
* 5+ years of professional experience in embedded Linux development (Safe Linux, RTOS, Android/Linux)
* Expertise in C/C++, Linux internals, device drivers, and real-time constraints
* Deep familiarity with Yocto, U-Boot, and kernel-level debugging tools (GDB, T32, crash, perf, etc.)
* Hands-on experience with ARM SoCs, board bring-up, and hardware/software integration
* Strong understanding of system-level safety, performance, and resource optimization
* Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Tier 1s, OEMs, or open-source communities
Bonus Points:
* Prior work in ADAS, IVI, or real-time multimedia systems
* Knowledge of multi-OS virtualization, containers, and secure boot architectures
* Experience with ASIL-B/C compliance, system verification, and E2E safety workflows
* Familiarity with Qualcomm, NXP, or Renesas automotive platforms
* Contributions to open-source Linux or automotive software projects (e.G. AGL, Linux Foundation)
