We are searching for a Product Compliance Manager to join our office in Stuttgart, Germany.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Compliance Manager to join our team, who will play a crucial role in ensuring that our Microwave & Cleaning Appliances products meet all regulatory requirements and industry standards for the European markets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, product compliance processes, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. This position will require close collaboration with external regulatory bodies, internal teams, and other stakeholders to support the launch, marketing, and ongoing compliance of our products.
Your Responsibilities:
* Oversee the compliance of products for cooking products (such as ovens, microwaves, etc.) with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., energy labelling and ecodesign, CE, REACH, RoHS, EMC, and other product-specific obligations) to ensure successful market access and ongoing product safety.
* Execute regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with national and international laws, regulations, and standards for microwave and cleaning appliances products across all stages of their lifecycle (development, approval, post-market surveillance).
* Support the preparation and/or review regulatory documentation, including product test reports, certifications, and approvals to relevant regulatory authorities.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulations and implement necessary adjustments by monitoring and analysing regulatory trends, policy changes, and emerging regulatory requirements.
* Provide guidance on the potential impact of regulatory changes to the business and product design.
* Work closely with R&D teams, Quality Assurance, Legal, Marketing, and other teams to ensure compliance is embedded in the product development process from concept to commercialisation.
* Lead the identification and mitigation of regulatory risks. Conduct internal audits and ensure timely preventive and corrective actions are taken to address non-compliance issues.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, partners, and external organizations, and represent Midea in relevant industry associations and promote their initiatives and advocacy programmes.
* Actively engage in relevant standardisation organisations and working groups (e.g., IEC, Cenelec) to develop product performance standards and analyse the impact of changes on our products.
* Responsible for home appliance product innovation, overall structural design, optimization, and related work, and solving structural and performance issues encountered during the R&D process.
* Participate in overseas product technology enhancement, quality improvement, and related technical support.
Your Profile:
* Master's degree or above, majoring in mechanical design, mold design and manufacturing, mechanical automation, or other related science and engineering fields.
* 6+ years of experience in safety compliance management and product structure design for home appliances.
* Knowledge of European regulatory frameworks (e.g., CE marking, RoHS, REACH, and energy efficiency directives).
* Experience in preparing regulatory documentation and managing product certifications.
* Familiar with product development standards, testing, and safety regulations for home appliances.
* Familiar with material properties and structural design techniques for plastic parts and metal parts; understanding of injection mold design and related manufacturing processes.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate across teams and with regulatory authorities.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
* Proficient in using ProE (creo), AutoCAD, and other design software.
* Proficient in German and English. Other European languages or Chinese are a plus.
