WHO WE ARE
SECLOUS stands for innovation, trust and security in our interconnected world. Instead of new security products, we deliver the needed capabilities to build more secure products – without compromising efficiency, interoperability or control. Our patented Non-Visible Data (NVD) technology offers protection invisible to users and effortless for developers.
Our team combines technical expertise and interpersonal skills. This has earned us numerous awards and a place among Germany's most innovative cyber security companies.
non-visible data. visible trust.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
In this role, you will help keep our build, dependency, and packaging infrastructure reliable, maintainable, and easy to use. You will work closely with our C++ Core Team to improve the tooling that enables developers to build, test, package, and ship software efficiently.
You don’t need to know every tool upfront — what matters is your interest in build systems, compilation, and developer tooling.
Improve Our Build Infrastructure
You help maintain and improve our Docker-based compiler and support images, especially for Linux-based toolchains such as Clang. You also work with supporting tools such as linters, formatters, test infrastructure, and developer utilities.
Over time, you may also get involved with additional platforms and toolchains, including GCC, MSVC on Windows, and Emscripten for WebAssembly.
Work on C++ Dependency Management
You improve and maintain package recipes for internal and external C++ libraries, help manage dependency updates, keep binary packages reliable, and make sure developers can consume dependencies smoothly through package managers such as Conan.
Conan experience is helpful, but not required. If you have worked with another C++ package manager or understand how C++ libraries are built, packaged, and consumed, we are happy to help you learn Conan on the job.
Debug Build and Packaging Issues
You investigate compiler, linker, and dependency-related build failures: understanding error messages, identifying missing or incompatible libraries, resolving configuration issues, and working with developers to find pragmatic solutions.
You do not need to be a cross-compilation expert already, but you should be interested in learning how toolchains, target platforms, sysroots, and build configurations interact.
Support Cross-Platform Builds
You help improve support for selected target architectures in our package recipes and build infrastructure. Some external dependencies currently do not build cleanly for all targets we need, and you will help analyze these cases, adapt recipes or build settings, and document working solutions.
Streamline Project Setups and CI/CD
You help scaffold new CMake-based projects using our internal templates, connect them to our GitLab CI/CD setup, improve existing pipelines, and make our build workflows more modular, reusable, and developer-friendly.
You do not need to be a CI/CD specialist, but some practical experience with CI pipelines is helpful.
Collaborate and Document
You are part of an Agile team and work closely with the C++ Core Team.
You join planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, and you document your work clearly so others can understand and use the build infrastructure — from recipes and images to dependency updates, troubleshooting steps, and project setup workflows.
YOUR PROFILE
You should bring most of the following with you:
Build Systems & C++ Fundamentals
* Experience with CMake and an interest in build systems and tooling
* Understanding of the C++ build process (headers, libraries, compiler flags, linker, build configurations, dependencies)
* Ability to analyze and debug compiler and linker errors
* Experience with C++ package managers (e.g., Conan, vcpkg) or comparable knowledge
Automation & Reproducibility
* Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating builds and workflows
* Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar)
* Experience with Docker or interest in reproducible build environments
Collaboration & Engineering Mindset
* Enjoyment of developer workflows and collaborating with development teams
* Clear communication and a team-oriented approach
* Focus on quality, maintainability, and pragmatic solutions
No "must have", but nice and helpful:
* Experience maintaining or authoring Conan recipes for C++ libraries
* Experience with Artifactory or another binary/package repository
* Familiarity with cross-compilation concepts and Linux toolchains, especially Clang
* Familiarity with MSVC, Windows builds, Emscripten, or WebAssembly
* Hands-on C++ development background, ideally with C++17 or C++20
YOU WILL BE A PERFECT FIT IF...
* You bring commitment and passion for innovative technology and continuous learning.
* You are conscientious and have high quality standards.
* You enjoy build systems, tooling, dependency management, and making development workflows better.
* You have strong communication skills and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
* You speak fluent English. German is a plus, but completely optional.
* You think like us — outside the box.
