We are seeking a Research Manager to lead innovation in areas including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Digital Twins & Simulation-based Design, Mathematics, Sustainability, Health Tech, and Robotics.

Responsibilities
1. Lead and coordinate international research and innovation projects across AI, Engineering, and Data Science
2. Manage multi-stakeholder consortia with academic, industrial, and institutional partners
3. Identify and develop new research opportunities and funding strategies at EU and national levels (e.g., Horizon Europe, DFG, BMBF)
4. Translate scientific results into technological innovations
5. Supervise proposal development, project implementation, and dissemination activities
6. Build strong, trust-based relationships with partners, clients, and funding agencies
7. Represent TWT at international conferences, review panels, and collaborative research networks
8. Mentor junior researchers and contribute to building internal expertise and knowledge networks
Qualifications
9. PhD or Postdoctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline
10. Proven experience in coordinating international and interdisciplinary research projects
11. Strong understanding of grants and proposal writing (EU or national programs)
12. Solid background in AI, data-driven engineering, or simulation technologies
13. Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to bridge academia and industry
14. Leadership experience in cross-functional and multicultural teams
15. Fluent in English and German; additional languages are an advantage
