Charles River Safety Assessment is currently seeking a Business Development Manager with a strong understanding of the industrial chemical market and/or the Agrochemical market, specifically covering Germany, for our Crops and Chemicals services. Responsible for achieving annual sales targets in the German-speaking territory. The geographical focus points will be Germany, Austria, and Eastern Europe. You will be responsible for achieving or exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets for Crops and Chemicals services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and implement short and long-term sales strategies and objectives to achieve the Company’s revenue goals for the Crops and Chemicals market. • Provide input on sales objectives, opportunities, and competition to senior business leadership. • Under the guidance of the Director of Business Development, formulate and implement policies and objectives to ensure the efficient and effective operation of sales activities. • Partner with operational senior leadership to drive and design tactics, strategies, and decision-making for new and existing service lines. • Develop an in-depth understanding of customer needs, buying behaviours, purchasing, and decision-making, and recommend creative solutions, methods, and procedures to meet customer expectations. • Develop and implement pricing and discounting in conjunction with senior leadership to ensure services are competitive while retaining profitability • Recommend service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. • Ensure consistency in the selling process. • Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices, and procedures [SOPs, safety procedures, and biosafety protocols]. • Gather data on marketing trends and competitive products, and pricing. • Utilize CRM to capture customer information. • Complete all required sales documentation promptly. • Participate in sales meetings and trade shows as required. • Perform all other related duties as assigned. • Frequent travelling within the territory will be required. QUALIFICATIONS: • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a life science-related field. • Very strong Experience across the Crops and chemicals sector business • Very strong experience of the industrial chemical market and or Agrochemical market. • Knowledge of the cosmetic and/or food industry market is a plus. • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Excellent leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence at the highest organizational levels. • Language: Need to be fluent in both English and German. This role offers: This position requires regular travel within Germany (approximately 40% of the time). Base Salary and commission, car allowance, full IT equipment, and benefits Fully remote role. Participation in sales meetings and trade shows as required.
