These are the tasks that await you Performing the duties of the leading occupational safety specialist in accordance with Section 6 ASiG Performing the duties of the emissions control officer, incident officer and waste officer Investigating occupational accidents and documenting them Inspecting operating equipment and technical work equipment before commissioning Responsibility for implementing the strategic and operational targets at the plant for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) in cooperation with the local management team, taking into account legal and internal company regulations Acting as contact person for all occupational safety, health and environmental protection issues for managers, employees, employee representatives and external bodies Leading and further developing the EHS team of 3 employees Carrying out and evaluating EHS audits and developing tailored improvement measures Creating awareness of the importance of occupational safety measures among our managers and employees Conducting site inspections, workplace and risk assessments Creating safety guidelines, work instructions and providing/documenting safety-relevant documents Reporting and analyzing safety-related incidents and initiating preventive and corrective measures, e.g. in the event of occupational safety, environmental protection or safety deficiencies Advising management on occupational safety and environmental protection aspects, e.g. in the context of structural, technical and organizational measures Further developing the company safety concept and continuously implementing the concept This is your professional and personal profile Successfully completed university degree (Diploma or Master’s) in engineering or natural sciences, ideally with a focus on occupational safety and/or environmental sciences At least 5 years of professional experience in occupational safety, health and environmental protection and the associated management systems Professional experience in a manufacturing company Certification as occupational safety specialist and as internal auditor according to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 19011 Sound knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and standards as well as accident insurance (BG) regulations Proof of expertise as waste officer, emissions control and incident officer; knowledge of fire protection is an advantage Experience in machinery safety and the relevant legal requirements and standards is desirable Experience in managing external service providers and in cooperation with external authorities, accident insurance institutions and internal bodies such as the works council, etc. Strong implementation skills combined with a high sense of responsibility and a healthy pragmatism Strong organizational skills, proactive way of working and drive to continuously improve processes Strong communication skills Ideally leadership experience and ability to work in a team, collaborating on topics across departmental boundaries Good spoken and written English skills (language level B1) and fluent German In this role, you report to the Regional EHS Manager (m/f/d) as well as to the local Plant Manager (m/f/d).
