Job Description
The Junior Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our forecasting and optimization models, as well as develop new analytical tools. Your insights will directly shape our commercial strategies and help mitigate market risks. As a member of the Energy Market & Strategy team, you will be responsible for supporting ib vogt in the commercialisation of power and other products or services from its assets. You will support the Team across multiple markets worldwide, through the completion of a variety of analytical tasks.
The ideal candidate has educational or professional experience in quantitative analysis of energy market data as well as software programming. This role will provide you with opportunities to develop your analytical skills and deepen your knowledge of energy markets, with increasing exposure to external stakeholders and major projects.
* Maintain, update and improve analytical models for power price analysis and forecast, pricing of risks related to power purchase agreements, PV + BESS optimisation, etc.
* Deliver data analysis in support of commercial negotiations (e.g. PPA) for short and long-term offtake structures
* Provide regular reporting market trends and relevant metrics to ib vogt management
* Ad-hoc analytical support as required, including development of additional models and tools
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or Mathematics; Master’s degree a plus
* Understanding of energy markets dynamics and energy generation technologies
* Experience in using Python, Matlab, R, or other programming languages
* Strong commercial and proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative across multiple tasks
* Ability to effectively interface with multiple roles and build relationships both internally and externally within the organization and with clients
* Financial & analytical capabilities in pricing and risk management would be a plus
* Languages: English (native speaker or excellent command), additional languages welcome
