Job Description
IPS is continuing to hire for our growing operation in Germany! We are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are seeking a highly experienced, energetic Project Controls Engineer to join our exciting German team, based either in Frankfurt or in Nuremberg, with remote working flexibility.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting/undertaking aspects of the projects and ensuring that all projects are completed within their projected budget. You will also assist and undertake parts of the Project work analysis, bidding, estimating, project reporting, and the compilation/submission of reports to the client. Furthermore, you will provide technical and commercial Project Controls support, working in accordance with company processes and procedures, to provide, update, and report on integrated schedule, cost, and resource information across a portfolio of projects from bid development through to project closeout. You will report to the Head of Project Services.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Assistance and advice to Bid & Project Managers in the development of project programmes and costs.
2. Establish Work Breakdown Structures and Cost Breakdown Structures in relation to project scope.
3. Work with Estimators to develop Bid programmes into integrated cost and resource-loaded programmes ensuring a smooth transition from Business Development to the Project Management team.
4. Attend weekly and monthly operations and programme update meetings to support the Project.
5. Co-operation/coordination with internal & external stakeholders to obtain accurate and realistic progress information and update the project, including forecasts.
6. Understanding key interfaces and the impact of changes in terms of cost and resource.
7. Produce and issue standardised performance reports based on cost and schedule for internal & external stakeholders, including information such as Earned Value, SPI, CPI, and EAC.
8. Input to PSR reports, which are presented to the board of directors on a monthly basis.
9. Identify key variances on the project, undertake variance analysis, communicate to Integrated Delivery teams, and present the data in the form of reports & graphs.
10. Provide prompt, accurate information to the Project Manager and integrated delivery teams.
11. Apply change to programmes and baselines in line with business and contract requirements and demonstrate the impact on the programme.
12. Work in line with specific contracts for projects, submitting financial information and programmes/activity schedules in line with client timescales.
13. Carry out general admin and housekeeping of project folders.
14. Actively participate in continuous improvement of the company, department, personnel, and self.
15. Ensure personal, professional, and technical competency through continuing professional development.
16. Enhance the potential of others by coaching and mentoring as appropriate.
17. Formulate and manage own personal training plan and development activity with the Head of Project Services.
18. Carry out tasks as instructed tasks as deemed reasonable by the Line Manager, in the interests of the company.

23. Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports to convey complex information simply to a diverse range of people
24. Has knowledge of Project Controls, particularly in Cost Control and Earned Value, with an understanding of the principles of Project Controls.
