We're supporting an international technology business based in Berlin on the search for a permanent Head of Accounting. You will own the full accounting cycle across multiple legal entities, drive process improvements and automation, and be the internal subject matter expert on compliance, tax, and statutory financial reporting.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will take ownership of the month-end close process, lead annual audits and compliance, and play a key role in building and scaling the finance function for the next stage of growth.
This role is based in Berlin on a hybrid working basis
Key Responsibilities
* Own the full accounting cycle across multiple legal entities
* Lead month-end close, consolidation, intercompany accounting, and group reporting
* Manage annual audits and statutory accounts across all entities
* Act as the primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors
* Oversee tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
* Drive process improvement, automation, and finance transformation initiatives
* Own and optimise finance systems and ERP platforms
* Partner closely with the CFO on accounting strategy, controls, and reporting
* Build scalable processes that improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
Profile
* Strong multi-entity accounting, consolidation, and intercompany experience
* Proven track record managing annual audits and statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions
* Strong ERP experience, ideally NetSuite or DATEV
* Demonstrable experience driving automation and process improvement
* Fluent English required, German a strong advantage
