About the Position
As a Senior System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our robust and secure IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for the stable operation of our Linux-based systems, managing virtualized environments with VMware and Kubernetes, and ensuring the reliability of our network infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall). Your expertise will be vital in monitoring system performance and health using tools like Prometheus and the ELK-Stack. Furthermore, you will oversee the administration and maintenance of our data center hardware and contribute to specialized projects involving Google Cloud air-gapped (GCA) environments, leveraging your Google Associate Cloud Engineer certification. This position offers the opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges and significantly contribute to the operational excellence and security of our critical systems.
Must-Have Skills
* Linux Administration: Profound knowledge in managing and configuring Linux systems.
* Virtualization & Containerization (VMware, Kubernetes): Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
* Network Administration (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall): Proficient in network protocols and services like TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall configuration.
* Monitoring & Logging (e.g., Prometheus, ELK-Stack): Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK-Stack).
* Data Center Hardware Administration and Maintenance: Competence in managing and maintaining physical data center hardware.
* Google Cloud air-gapped (GCA): Specific knowledge and experience with Google Cloud in air-gapped environments (GCA).
* Google Associate Cloud Engineer: Certification or comparable experience as a Google Associate Cloud Engineer.
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
* Additional cloud experience (e.g., AWS, Azure)
* Understanding of IT security concepts
* Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
