About the team and the role:
eBay’s Regulatory Initiative leads the development, design, and execution of end-to-end customer solutions to address the most significant regulatory requirements that impact eBay’s platforms and seller ecosystem. The global team works cross-functionally with partners across the organization, including Product, Legal, Trust, Operations, Marketing, Customer Support, Government Relations, and regional teams, to deliver solutions that balance regulatory requirements, customer experience, and business growth. The impact of this work is significant, helping ensure consumer protection, support responsible platform operations, and enable eBay to scale sustainably in a complex and evolving regulatory environment.
In this role, you will support regulatory work for eBay Live by program managing regulatory initiatives and enabling regulatory readiness across product development, operations, and market expansion. Working closely with the Live Regulatory Lead, you will drive the execution, coordination, and analysis required to assess regulatory requirements, support risk assessments, and ensure regulatory topics are tracked, structured, and progressed across teams.
The role is highly cross-functional and execution-focused, requiring close collaboration with Product, Legal, regional market teams, and the broader Regulatory Initiative to support Live’s growth in a complex regulatory environment.
What you will accomplish:
1. Program manage regulatory workstreams with focus on eBay Live, supporting identification, tracking, and coordination of regulatory topics relevant to Live product features, operations, and expansion plans.
2. Support regulatory risk assessments and quantification efforts by gathering inputs, maintaining risk logs, organizing SME discussions, and documenting mitigation options to enable decision-making for leadership teams.
3. Translate legal requirements into structured program inputs, maintaining documentation (e.g. business requirements, trackers, summaries) and coordinating feedback across Product, Legal, Markets, and other stakeholders.
4. Design and deliver E2E solutions for regulatory compliance, including coordinating cross-functional execution of regulatory work, prioritization tracking, orchestrating inputs across teams, and follow-up on agreed actions.
5. Partner closely with regional market teams to understand how local growth plans intersect with specific regulatory constraints and support international Live growth through clear coordination and information flow.
6. Provide hands-on execution support to the Live Regulatory Lead or other Regulatory leaders, including ad hoc problem-solving, investigations, escalation coordination, and preparation of materials for governance, leadership updates, and decision forums.
What you will bring:
7. Strong program management experience in fast-moving corporate, tech, e-commerce, consulting, or regulated environments, with a track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end; experience in fast-growth startups in regulated spaces (e.g., fintech, e-commerce) is a plus.
8. Ability to lead strategic transformation programs, translating ambiguous regulatory and business problems into clear strategy, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.
9. Analytical and structured problem-solving skills, able to connect regulatory, product, operational, and customer perspectives to design pragmatic, scalable solutions.
10. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory and technical topics clearly and credibly at all levels of the organization.
11. Familiarity with AI tools and an AI-first mindset, with a demonstrated ability to leverage technology to improve insight, execution, and decision-making.
12. Fluent in English, German fluency is not required but preferred. The role is based in Berlin, Germany, with expectation to travel 10-20%.
