Our team at the BMW Group industrializes emerging technologies for manufacturing and advances the digital transformation of the company. Here, you will support a multidisciplinary team at the forefront of generative AI, focusing on LLM routing and innovative solutions for manufacturing.
What awaits you?
* You will support investigating how different inputs are represented within the internal states of large language models.
* Furthermore, you help to examine how these representations differ across various large language models.
* In addition, you contribute to analyzing how representation differences affect routing performance across different routing implementations.
* Moreover, you will assist in utilizing these representations to route between language models, focusing on reasoning models of varied sizes and capabilities.
* You will help to evaluate the impact of different routing approaches on inference speed and answer quality.
What should you bring along?
* Studies in computer science, physics, mathematics or a related field.
* Solid understanding of machine learning principles, generative AI and standard frameworks.
* Experience with large language models.
* Proficient in Python and GitHub; experience with vLLM or similar frameworks is a plus.
* Knowledge about LLM training on GPU clusters is a plus.
* Effective communication skills in English; German is a plus.
