Role: Loan Clerk
Location: Munich, Germany (Hybrid)
A leading European company in the construction of utility-scale photovoltaic plants is currently seeking a Loan Clerk to join its team in Munich.
This organization, headquartered inMunich, employs over 1,500 professionals and has played a pivotal role in advancing sustainable energy solutions across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. With more than 630 solar power plants and over 10 GWp of installed capacity, the company operates as an integrated solution provider. Its services encompass geology, procurement, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance, and re-powering of plants, with a strong emphasis on battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Responsibilities:
* Negotiate guarantee and bond wordings with clients, banks, insurers, and guarantors to ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment with internal policies
* Review and refine guarantee and bond terms to mitigate risks, ensure legal accuracy, and propose improvements
* Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and legal teams to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled
* Coordinate with financial institutions and guarantors for the issuance and negotiation of guarantees, bonds, and facilities
* Manage all guarantees and bonds issued or received, including performance bonds, bid bonds, advance payments, and financial guarantees
* Ensure timely issuance, renewal, and release of guarantees and bonds
* Maintain an accurate database tracking all active guarantees and bonds, including terms, expiration dates, and associated risks
* Prepare detailed reporting packages for financial intermediaries and support documentation needs
* Conduct risk assessments to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
* Stay informed on legal, regulatory, and industry developments impacting guarantee and bond practices
* Provide regular reports to Senior Management highlighting activities, risks, and deadlines
* Analyze trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives or process enhancements
* Maintain proper documentation for internal and external audits
* Support audit processes related to guarantee and bond activities
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
* 3–5 years of experience in finance, risk management, or contract administration
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills in both English and German
* Proficiency in financial tools and systems
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
* Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks related to guarantees and bonds is considered a strong advantage
